Four sessions used within three months, plus messaging between them. Most people working on something specific need between six and twelve sessions in total.
If you cannot pay, say so
We hold a fixed number of fully subsidised places each month for students, unemployed people and low-income households, funded by our training and partnership work. Tell your coordinator when they contact you. You will not be means-tested, asked for documents, or made to explain yourself, and the care is identical.

Your coordinator sends you the exact merchant number for your country when they reach you. Never send money to an account you were not given by a Lebona coordinator.

Outside these three countries, your coordinator will confirm what is possible, usually an international bank transfer. Ask before you book.
How it works
Manual, and deliberately so
Handling payment by hand keeps our costs, and therefore your fees, low while we build. It does mean a couple of extra steps.

You get matched first
Nothing is charged during the intake form. Payment only comes up once a coordinator has proposed a specific therapist and you have said yes to them.

Your coordinator sends the details
The exact amount, the merchant number for your country, and a reference. This comes through the channel you chose, WhatsApp, Telegram, phone or email.

You pay and send proof
Send a screenshot or the transaction ID back on the same channel. This is how we verify it. There is no automatic reconciliation yet, so the proof matters.

We confirm and book
Once verified, your session is confirmed in writing with the date, time and how to join. Usually the same working day.
Protect yourself from fraud
- · Lebona will never ask for payment before you have been matched to a named therapist.
- · We will never ask for your mobile money PIN, or ask you to reverse a transaction.
- · Only send money to a number your coordinator gave you on the channel you registered.
- · If anything feels off, stop and check with us first.
Payment questions
Yes, and it is common: a parent paying for a student, an employer paying for staff, a sibling abroad paying for family at home. Tell your coordinator who the sessions are for and who is paying. The person receiving therapy still controls their own confidentiality: whoever pays is not entitled to session content.
Only "Lebona". No condition, no diagnosis, no service description. This is deliberate, for many people the transaction record is the most likely way someone else finds out, and we are not going to be the reason that happens.
Cancel more than 24 hours before a session and it is refunded in full or moved, whichever you prefer. Inside 24 hours we will usually still move it. Tell your coordinator. If a therapist cancels on you, that session is always free of charge, no matter the notice.
Because most of the people we serve do not use cards, and building a payment integration before we have proven the matching model would be the wrong order to do things in. Mobile money already works, everyone has it, and it costs the user nothing extra. We will automate this once volume justifies it.
Yes. Employers and schools can pre-purchase blocks of sessions and be invoiced once, with staff or students accessing them without their name appearing on any billing record. Get in touch and we will set it up.
